I love... the way the voice actors... talk, in this... as if they are reading... the script... for the very first... time. Some good riffing; I especially liked it when a character wonders if Gamera is dancing the Go-Go and Joel responds, "They're riffing on their own movie". Sadly, there are no viewer messages to listen to. Perhaps too many scary people with low IQs were calling. This is the last Gamera film, and that's a good thing as Joel is repeating himself (He does the "It's a flying Denny's" joke for the 2nd week in a row). Also, the Bicycle song from season three's version turns into"We're having Beefaroni..." LOL.
Of note: The Mads are seen on the SOL (and Larry's anguished tears, when he discovers what movie he has to watch, were pretty funny). Yes it was all a dream but it was a great idea that was finally done justice in Season 6 (Last of the Wild Horses)
Intro: The bots wonder why Joel created them (Crow feels he'd have made an excellent vacuum cleaner). The Mads are out of bad movies and think about sending "Jaws", but then Larry finds another Gamera movie. Segment 1: A blow to the head and Crow dreams that's he's in control of the experiment. He keeps sending the Mad's, "A Planet of the Apes Christmas", and the SOL becomes the Satellite of Loath. Segment 2: Crow and Servo discuss their dreams. But Joel says that what they're having are fantasies and sitcoms. Segment 3: Joel shares his dreams (About being a crane operator and standing in line for Metallica tickets). Gypsy (who Joel calls Gypsum) says she dreams about Joel. End: Joel, Crow and Gypsy sing a song about the SOL. Gyps gets so excited you can see the pole that holds her up. No Stinger: But if I chose one - Cornjob says, "I see, I see, I see"
Notable Riffs
"It sounds like she's from Macon Georgia" - Crow / "I said thinly sliced!" - Servo / "I wonder if she can get HBO on that hat?" - Crow / "Six-year-olds and nuclear weapons: a combination that just can't be beat." - Servo / "all the adults in this movie have their own sticks" - Crow / "She's a ventriloquist too" - Joel / "Lawn dart!" - Servo / "Those girls were cannibals" - "They ate my hair?" - Tom/Crow / "Is this entire film made out of still pictures? - "It's just very slow animation" - Servo/Joel
Stuff and Nonsense
* The boys notice all the stars in space and Crow says... "George Bush has been here". This is in reference to the "Thousand points of light" speech made by President Bush (Senior) during the 1988 Republican convention.
* The Mads demand better ratings from Joel, warning him that his rocket engines are controlled by the ratings (yet, in K11 they get upset when the ratings are too high. They really are mad!)
* And Larry mentions an old '60s product, Fuzzy Wuzzy bath soap, check it out...
